Initiated in 2007 by JAPPO (www.jappo.net), a company based in Dakar (Senegal), specialized in Events and Sports Management, the Africa International Sports Convention in (CISA) has become, over the years, an unmissable event on the African sports agenda.
The creation of CISA was simply a response to the lack of this type of a dialogue and exchange platform in Africa for sports professionals.
Between its first edition in Dakar and the ten’s edition in Alger, CISA has brought together eminent stakeholders in African and international sports, attracting IOC members and leaders of international federations such as FIFA, IAAF, FIBA, IRB and other institutions such as UNESCO, CONFEJES to name a few.
In ten years, major African cities have taken turns to host CISA: Dakar (2007 & 2013), Abuja (2008), Cairo (2009), Ekurhuleni (2010), Marrakech (2011), Bamako (2012), Sal (2014) and Kigali (2015), Alger (2016).
CISA aims to contribute to the development of African sport by bringing together, each year, in a different city, African and international sports experts to share their vision and experiences for three (03) days in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges faced by African sport.
Founder of JAPPO, Diamil Faye has developed, since 1993, a vast experience within the Sport and Olympic movement.
After contributing to Cambodia’s return to the Olympic Movement at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, he worked as a Director in the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games. Following these experiences, he joined the Organizing Committee for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and then the Organizing Committee for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games as an Expert.
Other projects Diamil has worked on include Olympic bids such as New York 2012, Sochi 2014, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. A FIFA consultant since 2012, Diamil is currently a Senior Advisor to the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and has also acted as Interim Director General of the Riyadh 2034 Asian Games Organizing Committee.
Very active in the sports field in Senegal, Diamil is currently the President of the Jappo Olympique Guédiawaye, a sports club and the owner of the sportswear brand JSPORTS since 2011.
Created in 2005, JAPPO Sports & Entertainment (JSE) is a company based in Dakar, Senegal and specialized in Consulting, Sports and Events Management. The Company also owns sportswear brand (JSPORTS) and specialized over the years in Sports Clubs management.
